The Mexican artist E. Robledo reflects many of the Mexican customs and traditions in his artworks.
One of the most representative elements of his works are the Armadillos. The Armadillo represented protection and empathy for Mesoamerican cultures.
For the artist, these animals look like land birds, as they always go on the ground, as in a slow flight.
In this foamed PVC (38X28cm) it captures two armadillos on a horse and a unicycle. You can see that an armadillo gives the moon to another, hence the name of the work: The gift
